Why Kevin’s marketing works

I often hear people complain about their marketing.

Whether it’s because they think they hired the wrong marketing firm…

…or because they aren’t happy with their internal marketing person…

…the complaints are often the same.

“I don’t know if I’m getting any results from my investment” is something I’ve often heard before.

Or I’ll hear people say “I don’t even know if it’s working.”

Maybe you’ve had these same concerns, or maybe you’ve heard other entrepreneurs complaining about their lack of results.

Today I want to share with you why my long-time client Kevin’s marketing works for him.

Kevin has been a client of mine for many years now, and he keeps growing, he consistently gets new clients, and keeps seeing results because he follows this approach:

1) Kevin engages with his own marketing.

He shares the social media updates we post every day. He asks questions about what’s working and what’s not working. He cares about the marketing work we do for him. Why? Because Kevin owns his marketing. He understands that it’s his business and so he needs to be fully engaged and own the process.

2) Kevin follows up on his leads.

I know this sounds simple, but I can’t tell you how many people don’t follow up on the leads they get!! This is obviously a recipe for failure. You have to be willing to keep reaching out until your prospect responds.

I recently closed a deal that took me 597 days to close (or 86 weeks).

I sent 59 emails and had over a dozen phone and video calls to close the deal.

In the first year working with this client, we will generate over $50,000 and I expect it will end up being a deal worth $150,000 over its lifetime (if not more).

So… would you be willing to invest 30-40 hours of work to generate $150,000 in revenue?

While most people say they would, I’ve found that there are actually very few people who commit to doing the work to make that happen.

If you want to make your marketing work, then you’ve got to be committed to your sales efforts too.

3) Last, but probably most importantly, Kevin provides excellent service and results to his clients.

Marketing 101 is simple: Provide excellent products, services, and results to your clients.

Once again this sounds really simple, but too often I see business owners and entrepreneurs undervaluing the relationship with their prospects and clients.

If you don’t show up and serve your clients with all your heart, and if you don’t give them your highest and best every single day, then no amount of marketing can overcome that.

Bad products and services don’t succeed in the long run no matter how much marketing they have behind them.

Marketing 101 is doing what you say you’re going to do. It’s creating that amazing client experience. If you do that right, then your paid marketing channels will grow even more effectively.

So today, if your marketing isn’t where you want it to be I have two challenges for you:

1) Look at how you can create amazing client experiences every time you deliver your products and services. Get better and better results for your clients each day.

2) Own your marketing. Pay attention to whatever you’re investing in and realize that at the end of the day, you’re the one responsible to get results. Not anyone else. Become the leader your team needs so you can guide them forward.

If you want your marketing to work as well as Kevin’s does, then these are the steps you can take to get you there.

To your marketing success,

Gabe
