What Is the Law of Attraction?

Have you heard of the Law of Attraction? Odds are, you’ve probably at least heard about it. There are millions of books on the subject, and the philosophy behind it has been around for a long time. 

If you haven’t heard of it, the Law of Attraction is the idea that whatever you give the most time and energy to will, in turn, come back to you. In other words, it’s about attracting what you want to focus on into your life. 

If you stay focused on everything positive in your life, then you will attract more positivity. If you’re only focused on the negatives, you will only attract more negativity into your life. If you’re happy, inspired, and joyful, your body radiates that energy into the world. Others notice it, even if it’s subconsciously.  

That Sounds Great! How Do I Do That?

You’re probably saying, “That sounds great, Gabe, how do I only focus on positives?” I know, it’s easier said than done. Especially for fellow entrepreneurs, as we’re constantly bombarded with negativity. Client expectations, project hiccups, competitors, not to mention personal issues. These negative thoughts can build up and cause us to lose sight of what’s important. 

My colleague, author Andrew Kap, wrote a fantastic book on the Law of Attraction called “The Last Law of Attraction Book You’ll Ever Need to Read”, in which he ties in his own personal struggles and how he learned to implement the Law of Attraction in a way that worked for him. 

The problem with many Law of Attraction books is that they aren’t personalized to fit you. What I love about Andrew’s book is that he connects personal experiences and how he was able to make the Law of Attraction work for him. 

How To Make the Law of Attraction Work for You

Kap says the main adjustments people need to make in order for the Law of Attraction to work are patience and gratitude — two things that many entrepreneurs struggle with. All the wonderful things you want in life can be yours by putting out the right energy, but you have to be patient. 

Let’s say you have a goal you want to accomplish. You can’t just think happy thoughts and expect the goal to be achieved on its own. You still have to do the work, and you have to be patient. With the right mindset and positive thinking, you will achieve your goals. Whether it takes weeks, months or even years. 

Showing Gratitude

Another major piece for implementing the Law of Attraction is always practicing gratitude. You’ve got big goals you want to achieve, but what about the little things in between? Those are just as important. Showing gratitude for things in your everyday life will help you maintain that positive attitude that helps you put the right energy into the world. 

Even if you have a horrible day, there is always something to be grateful for. I’m lucky to have an amazing partner, my son, my dog and an incredible team working for me. Even on my worst days, I’m always grateful for them. You can be grateful for something as small as a soothing cup of coffee. Maybe you heard a new song on the radio or got the closest parking spot to your building. 

Whatever your case is, keeping gratitude in mind will help you appreciate what you have, while you work toward your goals. All while maintaining the output of positive energy. 

Now, it’s your choice whether to focus on negativity or embrace the positive aspects of life, even if they seem insignificant. Maintaining a positive attitude will help you get what you want in life.
