I Said All The Things

This past weekend I watched a show on Netflix called After Life.

The show starts out with the main character Tony watching a video from his wife who passed away. The show explores some very dark and difficult aspects of human existence.

In one of the videos she left him, Tony’s wife said a really interesting line that caught my attention.

She in essence said “I can’t tell you this in person, so I’m recording this video for you”.

As I watched those few seconds of the show, something deeper hit me.

I was impressed by the fact that there are many people who don’t take the time to share how they truly feel.

Or maybe they’ve wanted to say something to a loved one, or even to the whole world that they haven’t had the courage to say yet.

My hope for you today my friend is that you say what’s in your heart.

I want to get to the end of my life many years down the road, and know that I said all the things I wanted to say to those I love and care about.

Assuming someone knows you care about them isn’t good enough.

They need to hear it from you.

Assuming that there are enough voices speaking out about something just won’t cut it.

Your voice could be the tipping point.

Be brave today.

Share how you really feel, with strength and kindness.

I want you to know that I care deeply about you.

I appreciate you being part of my community.

Regardless of how we connected, I’m glad you’re here.

I’m working hard to be a better human, and to show up in a better way today than I did yesterday.

So thanks for being part of my world.

Cheers,

Gabe

P.S. I truly believe that each of us has a story to tell.

A book to write. A video to release, a post to write.

Here at BME we help people tell their story.

Keep your eye out, because within the next few days I’ll be sharing some exciting news about how you can tell your story Gabe.
