If entrepreneurship were easy, then everyone would be a millionaire.
It’s not easy because to find success as an entrepreneur you have to take total and extreme ownership.
You can’t blame others.
You can’t blame your past.
You can’t blame your lousy mindset.
You have to take total and extreme ownership of where you are and what you’ve got.
You have to take to heart the fact that no one cares about your success more than you do.
So if you don’t care that much, how will anyone else care?
Caring about your success means taking action on it.
The work you need to do is not just the tasks in front of you, but it’s also the mental effort that is required to change and reinvent yourself.
The good news about entrepreneurship is that you can be anything you want to be.
The bad news about entrepreneurship is that you have to be able to reinvent yourself nearly every single day.
I like to tell people “it only takes 20 years to become an overnight success.”
Also, I also like to tell people that “the good news is that you only have to learn around 100 new skills to become an entrepreneur!”
I’m joking about both statements, but all jokes have a little truth mixed into them don’t they.
Today if you take stock of where you’re at on your entrepreneurial journey you have two choices.
You can either:
- Blame something or someone else for where you’re at or not at or
- Take total and extreme ownership for where you’re at or not at
If you blame others, then you’re screwed.
It means that your success or failure is in someone else’s hands. You should just quit trying at this entrepreneurship game then and stick to working for someone else exclusively.
I don’t think that’s what you want, so here’s a better alternative:
Take total and extreme ownership of your file and where you’re at, and you unlock the freedom to change and grow.
That means if things aren’t where you want them to be, you can improve.
That also means that if life is good, you can make it even better. You can make a more significant impact.
So what are you going to do?
Let yourself stay stuck where you are, or take total and extreme ownership and step up to the next level of entrepreneurship?
