Grab a seat, and let’s talk.
Don’t worry, you’re not in trouble. I just want to help!
Every day, whether through these emails or The Engine Builder’s Show, I tell you about communication or rant to you about entrepreneurial tips and tricks.
Now, I know that I’m not the only one who gives you advice regularly—I’m not jealous, I swear.
But, I want to caution you that all advice isn’t great. You must separate the good from the bad.
One can be a game-changer, and the other can lead your entire business down the tube.
Of course, I wish I could say, “Hey, my advice is the only kind you need! So, you can just ignore the rest!”
Unfortunately, as easy as that would be, it wouldn’t be entirely true.
I’ll tell you honestly that I’ve made significant strides in my business by hearing what others have to say, and I would be wrong to tell you to do otherwise.
So, instead of that, I’m just going to tell you how to use a clear measurement system to filter your incoming advice—allowing you to cut out the bad advice for good.
The clear measurement system is called the Experience Rating system, or the ER system.
Using the ER system, anyone can fall between zero to three.
– Zero represents someone with no experience. A person with a zero rating could be a well-meaning loved one who has little knowledge but no real experience.
– One represents someone with the experience of doing something once or twice. So, that person isn’t really a veteran, but they might have some valuable wisdom.
– Two represents a person who has done something two to nine times. That person’s advice can be extremely helpful.
– Three represents people that have accomplished what you want to do ten or more times. That’s where your best advice will come from.
If you can use this system to filter your advice, you’ll be more likely to take the correct path for you and your business—leading to more growth.
No more opinions that lead you to dead ends—only helpful advice crafted from actual experience that leads you to success.
On that note, if you want to speak with me directly about what I can do for you and your business, I’m happy to help. All you have to do is click this link!
To your success,
Gabe
