Share Your Favorite Feeds Through HootSuite

EvernoteDiggStumbleUponShare

If you are as big a fan of this little Owl as I am then I think you’ll enjoy a little more in depth review of how to use the RSS feed tools.  If you haven’t used them in the past then this will be a great opportunity to automatically share those special pieces of the web that you manually pass along to your followers now.

To begin, click on the HootSuite Owl icon on the upper left:

The menu will fly down below:

And you will want to navigate to Settings>RSS/Atom:

Then click RSS/Atom on the left menu:

And click Add New Feed:

Enter the feed details here, select the accounts that should poll this feed, and select your settings.

Click save, and that’s all you have too do.  Now according to your selected time schedule you’ll see updates off of your configured feed.

Hope this was helpful!  If it was, pass it along, or feel free to Follow Me.

Google Apps And Gmail Signatures Now Support Images. Here’s How!

EvernoteDiggStumbleUponShare

So, you love Google, you love Gmail but the one thing that was nice in Outlook or your other mail client was images in your signature.  Well, Google has finally added that functionality along with a slew of other awesome features to Gmail and Google Apps mail.  Want to put your social links in your signature, but make them a little more interesting?  Here’s how:

Before we just had our boring old text signatures:

Now, to add images, simply go to settings on the upper right of your mailbox:

Then scroll down to your signature box and choose the radial box that sets a signature if you haven’t already set your text signature:

Next, open your Gmail docs or Google Apps docs in a new tab and click upload:

Select a file to upload when you see this screen:

Then be sure to mark the file as Public on the web and click “Start upload”

When the upload is complete you’ll see the image link:

Click on it and the image will open up in a new tab as shown below:

Next, right click on the image and choose “Open image in new tab”:

You’ll then see the file in a new tab with nothing showing but the image.  Copy the url above in image in this new tab.  It is very long.  After copying it, go back to your mail settings page that you left open in the other tab and choose “Insert Image” from the WYSIWYG menu above the signature box:

When the image box pops up, paste your image link in and your image will appear:

Click OK.  Now you’ll see your image wherever you inserted it into your signature:

Click “Save” at the bottom of the settings page:

and you’re all done!

How To Get New Followers On Twitter

EvernoteDiggStumbleUponShare

Though I am not a Twitter expert by any means, I have found this is a good way to get started if you are a new Twitter user like me.  I doubled my followers in a few hours.  Obviously there are some real Twitter Pros out there but I thought it might be a good way for beginning twitter users to get more followers. Enjoy, and as always, your feedback is welcome.  Happy Tweeting!

How to get customers to buy

EvernoteDiggStumbleUponShare

In my experience, I have found that it is easier to get customers to buy after a considerable amount of face time is spent.  It is psychologically and realistically unproductive for the customer if they abandon your company or service after spending 8-12 hours discussing the product or service you offer.  They do not always consciously realize it, but unconsciously they know they do not want to start the process all over and spend another 8+ hours with your competitor to get to the same stage they feel they are at with you.  Get your customer to like you and like buying from you.  It’s not about the money.  It is about the customer’s experience.  Make it a good one!
